Please welcome our guest blogger, Michelle. Michelle is one of my spin instructors and happens to be a great baker. She made these brownies for us one Friday morning to bring us back to life after her one-hour spin class.
These are perfect to whip up to take with you on a cold afternoon when cutting down your Christmas tree or when wrapping presents by a fire, with coffee, of course! They are dense, and not too sweet.
Here is Michelle’s recipe in her own works. Happy baking.
What you need:
- 1 cup of margarine or butter
- 1 ½ cups of sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup of nuts (optional)
- 3 large apples- (peeled or unpeeled, your call) sliced and diced
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- ½ teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoons of cinnamon
What to do:
Melt the margarine or butter
Mix sugar, eggs and butter together. Beat well.
Add dry ingredients. Mix well.
Stir in the apples and nuts.
Bake in a greased 9×13 pan at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean.
Cool and cut…YUM.
Thanks Michelle for the treats and for sharing the recipe.
