Day Two: Are Swedish Fish Brain Food?

by | Mar 10, 2011 | Blog | 0 comments

OK, we are into the second full day of Lent and I am already yearning for chocolate.  I received some bad news today and my old friend Mallo Cup was not there to appease and console me.  Just my pug Izzy who loves me no matter what. So what would any self respecting chocoholic do? Look for a substitution and I found Swedish fish. Now the 4 pound bag of these babies tells me that the nutritional value is slim but the calorie count is a winner at 150 for 20 fish. So I ate them. All 20 and secretly thought about adding a few extra.
Now in order to get past the BodyBugg (big brother is watching) that I wear and logging these puppies into my food log, I thought for a fleeting moment that I would just add them as “fish”.  No one would know right? But I would so I added those 150 calories to my day and will sweat them off tonight at Will Power and Grace class, or cheering for my son’s CYO basketball team.
It all works out in the end, right? 46 days to go…..

About Me

KarenHello and welcome.
I am often asked, “What is Pasta on the Floor?”
Pasta on the Floor is different for everyone. It is a recipe that tells a story and inspires them to try something new. For others, stories of family, joy, loss, and hope engage with them. This brings me a great deal of happiness. I do not take myself too seriously, so be forewarned the subject matter is open and truthful. In many ways, Pasta is a tale of life, and I think you will find familiarity and commonality as you scroll through these pages.
