Cocoa Krispies Biscotti, really?

by | Mar 21, 2011 | Blog | 1 comment

My daughter was eating breakfast this morning, her usual breakfast of champions: Cocoa Krispies.  She finished the box and handed it to me to break down and recycle.  As I turned the box over I read the recipe on the back: Cocoa Krispies Biscotti.  I had to read it twice. Really? Is that right?

Now I am quite desperate for chocolate as I sit here on Day 13 but that insults my intelligence, my Italian heritage and any skill I may or may not have as a cook. I just had to write this.  With all due respect to the Kellogg’s company, that just should not be. I read the ingredients and at least it asked for real butter and cocoa powder.  Maybe I should not be so judgemental, so quick to react. After all, I am on a tight wire with this lack of chocolate.

Even so, I will pass on trying this recipe. I wish anyone luck with whomever does bake these biscotti and if you do, and they turn out great, let me know…..after Lent!

About Me

KarenHello and welcome.
I am often asked, “What is Pasta on the Floor?”
Pasta on the Floor is different for everyone. It is a recipe that tells a story and inspires them to try something new. For others, stories of family, joy, loss, and hope engage with them. This brings me a great deal of happiness. I do not take myself too seriously, so be forewarned the subject matter is open and truthful. In many ways, Pasta is a tale of life, and I think you will find familiarity and commonality as you scroll through these pages.
