The Christmas 3.4

You’ve certainly heard of the “Freshman 10”.  This occurs when young people go to college and lose all sense of food respect and discipline. By Christmas, they have packed on 10 pounds of pizza, beer and what-not.

Merry Christmas.  I have the “Christmas 3.4”. Yes, 3.4 pounds of unwanted  and quite unsightly F-A-T. I love when people say to themselves, “I don’t know how this happened”. Oh I do and in one word: CHEESE. I love cheese and I could keep the entire state of Wisconsin dairy farmers in the black. I ate brie, cheddar, mozzarella, gouda, pepper jack and colby jack cheeses.  Never met a cheese I did not like.

I have worked out through all of this eating-a-palooza week and today I will stand on that scale and meet either my friend or my enemy.  I took three classes on Tuesday and my legs and butt are screaming, “why did you have to eat all that cheese?” Today I would be happy with a 1.1 loss.  We’ll see.

Big Zumba-thon tonight.  Three hours straight and great friends, fun and music.  I can usually burn over 1200 calories in that span.  I wonder how many margaritas and buritos that will buy me at Bombers.  (And what kind of burrito do you think I like the most? Cheese.)

Happy New Year to you all.

K.

About Me

KarenHello and welcome.
I am often asked, “What is Pasta on the Floor?”
Pasta on the Floor is different for everyone. It is a recipe that tells a story and inspires them to try something new. For others, stories of family, joy, loss, and hope engage with them. This brings me a great deal of happiness. I do not take myself too seriously, so be forewarned the subject matter is open and truthful. In many ways, Pasta is a tale of life, and I think you will find familiarity and commonality as you scroll through these pages.
