I was waiting for Amelia on campus this morning before going to visit a client in Rochester. I saw her walking towards me and no longer saw a young Amelia. I saw a young woman on a college campus no longer in need of a mother for typical mom duties. We greeted each other and headed to her apartment.
Amelia lives with a group of girls and one guy, Pete. Pete was vacuuming when we got there. I don’t ever remember a guy owing a vacuum let alone using one when I was in school. After the initial shock of an unmade bed and some random recyclables that I don’t approve of we were on our way to Target.
Amelia is dangerous in Target and within 15 minutes she was stocked up on supplies, treats and a Christmas spatula for Pete. (He hunts and cooks too)
Upon return to the apartment we found now three guys studying with calculators and papers strewn across the table. The image on this post was a picture of the whiteboard in the kitchen. I have no idea what the heck it says but they do so okay.
I miss Amelia and she says she misses us too. She says sometimes school is better than home because no one makes you do things. Don’t worry Boo. You’ll be home soon and remember, Mama bear knows all and sees all and is here if you need me.
